Dilli 6

"The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page."

Chandni chowk- the heart of delhi. So here it was my first experience to chandni chowk. Initially, my mindset about chandni chowk was very different, i fount it very dirty and crowded, but trust me this visit to dilli 6 has changed it completely.

As i stepped down the metro  , i knew my biggest nightmare has a arrived- whoff! a crowded and filthy metro station. I wanted to run back home after seeing this scenario.
On the roads were people selling all sorts of products from toys to clothes, people spiting, peeing, yelling. basically they didnt give me a single chance to rethink about my opinion.

The selling tactics of these people were quite disgusting. they just yelled on us "madam aapka kuch gir gya hai" and when we went back to his stall and asked what fell all he had to say was "madam 150 meh 3 tshirt hai lelo na". At that point of time i said to myself "welcome to the true india twisha"

Running from the chaos we headed towards our place of interest "JAMA MASJID". Jama masjid was made by shah jahan. As we entered Jama masjid, the ambience changed tremendously despite the huge loudspeakers repeating the azaans, tons of beggars , litter on the stairs, the place brought a glow in my eyes. it was beacause of the beautiful architecture, the beautiful heritage of our country.

when the namaz was over, we went inside and believe me all the negative things i saw in chandni chowk just drained away. Jama masjid was a like an entire new chandni chowk. the place was serene, elegant and holy. far away from the busy life of delhi was this mosque in the heart of delhi. quite a metaphor.

the people were enjoying the serenity of the place. there were foreigners wanderering in the tomb. people cleaning themselves for the namaz.

i just sat their for hours and kept thinking that we are so blessed that we dont live in an area like chandni chowk. we are not even aware of the problems that the people of chandni chowk face. thus, i decided to go into the markets and find out the reason why these people had to work in a place like this.
